I had the best day on Thursday with Codi. I think what really made him happy was a morning session eating his breaky (fresh fruit and cereal puffs) whilst watching his dad play tennis with aka Uncle Matt. It was such a beautiful fresh morning with the ocean as the back drop, but I think what made his day was that I was tapping in to the “connection” parents have with their kids, when they quietly bond, give attention without too much fuss, but it’s a “quality” interaction. I think he was really appreciating this and I could sense he loved just hanging out with his mom, just watching a strange interesting game, that involved a bright yellow colored ball being hit with a toy type thing by his dad. Also a toy that mom encourages him to throw and play with on occasions. He even jiggled about in his attempt to say hello to Matt. After eating breaky, he ran around the empty tennis courts after his dad won his first set after months of trying to beat Matt & Pat to no avail. We then said goodbye, as Matt had to play another set (hehe) and chuffed off to playgroup…now usually playgroup is a challenge, but today I really made sure I interacted with him, knowing when he wanted to “wifi connect & interact” so to speak and I decided I would pay attention to this. It worked wonders, I felt so happy. When he lost site of me, he would cry, but I would be in connection within seconds and this only happened a few times, then he really settled, laughed and was his usual happy self..he played with the toys, the playground slides, and played hide and seek with the ceiling fan. It was a major change to a screaming baby hating playgroup. I was so amazed that he even grabbed my hand and took me for a walk. I love this wifi thing, going to use it again tomorrow.
